Mara & Perfectionism
With season 3 ended, I felt like it's not a spoiler to say more about Maskmara!
I like how the third season makes Mara pops off as a character. Before this, we only knew her as someone who is firm, responsible, brave and smart - which seems too perfect. But, in this season we got a glimpse of how a perfectionist she is; a flaw that makes her character more interesting.
In ep 10, when Mara got 99/100 Marks, she was very displeased that cause her to want to study immediately despite at that time, they we're trying to investigate about he missing exam papers. Mara, someone who's always helped her friends, choose to not get involved in the mission just because she was irked by imperfect her exam marks.
Same goes with her responsibility as the new Maskmana. Something that strikes me during 1st ep is that Maskmara looks so eager and rushed when she demands amato to give quacky to her. At first, I thought "Mara that I know would not act like that?" But after watching ep 10-13, I'm convinced the reason she's like that is most likely due to she is too concerned on doing her job perfectly. That's why when quacky get away, she wants to quickly make things right - by capturing quacky and lock him away for good.
The most obvious moment of her perfectionism is after she and Mechamato has defeated Chachix, she still felt guilty, thinking that it's her fault; showing that even tiniest mistake will not cut her any slack.
Plus, expectation is VERY high for Maskmara. In ep 12, there's one moment when Mechabot said that she's not the 'real' maskmana, which makes Mara trigerred and cannot focus on the fight. Even Amato said in the episode that he hought the fight would be easier with maskmana presence, but otherwise happened. Hence, the expectation is weighing on her shoulder as the new hero in town.
This conflict also continues in the first few minutes of ep 13, where Mechabot questions why Mara was chosen to become the new Maskmana. Mara looks down for a while (dear Mechabot, I love you but you and your blabbering nonsense 😩). The good thing is - Mara is surrounded by great friends who are optimist and supportive. When Amato & Pian back her up, you can see that as if her eyes lit up for a moment, lifting back the confidence in herself. At the end of the episode, once again she was supported by her precious Friends. The dynamic of the main cast is my favourite thing about this season.
So, moral of the story, focus on progress not perfection and when you doubt yourself, find someone caring enough to lift your back up ;)

Extra opinion on: Is Mara the mom of BoBoiBoy?
Honestly, with all the things shown (characteristic, facial feature), I can say 70-80%, she is most likely is? Unless Monsta pulls a twist. But, I personally hope she's not just because I want to see a new female character, and I kind of like it if his mother was not on good terms with amato at first etc. (I like enemies to lovers trope hehe) And I still have theory that it's Tok Sah's daughter that we have yet to see 🤸
